Zoe Thomas

Zoe Thomas

Zoe has just finished her second year at the University of Otago, studying History and Indigenous Development. She says: "I was born and raised in Dunedin and studied at Queen’s High School. I whakapapa to Raukawa, a connection that has greatly influenced my studies as I am interested in the relation between my history studies and my learning in indigenous development."

Her summer project focuses on Māori education during World War II. She will investigate the impact that the Second World War had on Māori in post-secondary education, including tertiary institutions such as universities, in New Zealand.
